Wedding Décor Trends for your Bucks County Wedding: Must Have & Nice to Have

Updated: Jul 20

Wedding Day Decor

You walk into a store that only sells wedding decor. What do you see in the store front window?  What are the small knick-knacks you see on the store shelves?  Anything interesting in the back that catches your eye?  There are the "must have" items and the nice to haves. Figuring out what falls into each category can be stressful, so below we provided the solution. With a quick read, you’ll have an understanding of what the event planners at The Warrington are frequently asked about when it comes to wedding day decor and how we respond.

Must haves insinuates a priority, so let’s start with card boxesWhen we welcome your guests, one of the most common questions is, “where’s the card box?”  Whether you’re the type who asks no one to bring a gift or accepts gifts with open arms, gifts are coming. Your attendees' generous gifts deserve the sleek packaging that comes with a cute card box.

Another must have is an item you can always keep for memories. A sign-in book (or creative alternative like Jenga pieces) for your friends and family to share their words of wisdom, words of inspiration, and funny memories. There may never be another day you have this many close friends and family gathered in one place.  See the good they all want to say about you. You may find that some of your guests are poets, comedians, or your new favorite people.

Place cards or a seating chart because everyone needs to know where they’re headed. Seems obvious, but on a day that takes a lot of planning, sometimes obvious details can be overlooked.

Don’t feel like you have to memorize these must haves.  We work with you every step of the way to make sure you are ready for the wedding day.

"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." You've all heard this saying and these are great "nice to haves." Why not make your "something new" an item that can be "something borrowed" for future generations of your family such as a cake topper, cake cutting knife, or engraved champagne glasses.

I’m sure we have all heard “first impressions are important,” so let’s place a welcome sign outside for your crew. Add a witty line that reminds guests of who they’re here to see or a unique hashtag for guests to tag when posting photos, which leads us to our next point.

Photographs. We want our professional quality candid and formal photos, but how fun are photos to look back on?  You hired a photographer, but now recruit some volunteers to document the fun of your wedding day. You can’t be everywhere all at once, so let’s put Kodak back in the spotlight and place a disposable camera on each table. Encourage guests to share their experience with you through pictures.

There is so much happening in one day, make your décor useful for creating memories you can always look back on. The best stories come from experiences you share with those closest to you.  When you’re flipping through your pictures, you may find one you need someone to elaborate on. This could be the next great memory that becomes the story you share 10, 15, 20 years from now.
